Nikolaos Istatiadis works between systems and images. Trained in electrical and computer engineering with a focus on autonomous systems and AI, he spent years designing the kind of processes — feedback loops, signal pipelines, control systems — that this body of work quietly borrows from and pushes against.
His practice moves through painting, drawing, and mixed media, treating each surface as a small experiment: what happens when a rigid process is handed an unstable material, or when an engineer’s instinct for structure meets a mark that refuses to resolve. The result sits somewhere between diagram and gesture — schematics that behave like paintings, and paintings that behave like systems left to run.
